I’m the photo lady — and I’ve been where you are.
I’m Debbie Schott, Your Photo Helper and Legacy Specialist. I help families protect, organize, and share the photos and stories that matter most, one small step at a time.
The stories I wish I’d saved.
My grandmother lived to be 100. By the time I realized how much I wanted her stories — where she grew up, who the people in those old photos were, what life was like — she couldn’t tell them anymore. Dementia had taken them.
That quiet heartbreak is why I do this. Photos matter, but the names, stories, and voices behind them matter even more. I want to help your family hold onto both, before “someday” turns into “too late.”
From corporate life to “the photo lady.”
I spent 32 years in corporate life and earned my MBA from UT Austin. All along, I was a traditional scrapbooker who loved photos and the stories behind them.
In 2015, while living in Minnesota, I turned that passion into Your Photo Helper. I trained with a national association of professional photo organizers and started out as a photo organizer — sorting, scanning, and building photo books for families.
Then I married a Texan, our daughter chose a college in Texas, and my husband decided it was time to go home. We settled in New Braunfels. These days most of my clients are right here in Central Texas, and I still work virtually with families anywhere.
One bite at a time.
Here’s my secret: I still live in the photo overwhelm, too. Thousands of pictures on my phone. Boxes of prints. That one photo I know I have somewhere. So I’ll never tell you to do it all at once — I don’t either.
We’ll take it one small, doable step at a time. I’m part emotional support and part get-it-done project partner, and you’ll get both. Three ways to work together:
